The Chancleticus Tonkinese Cattery is located in Western Washington. We are a relatively new and small cattery. We work with Starstrutter and benefit from the years experience that they have in this field.

All our kittens are raised underfoot. For the first few weeks the mom and kittens pretty much stay in their room. Their room is equipped with a warm safe sleeping area, lots of floor space for play, a window perch so that they can take advantage of our Washington sunshine, and a stereo and TV so that they can become accustomed to the noises that they will encounter  as they grow. We spend lots of time with each kitten everyday, socializing them for an easy transition to a new home.

At weaning age (after the kittens have had their first vaccinations and feel they are ready, as some are bolder and some are more shy) they will come out to explore the rest of the house and it's inhabitants. Because we want the kittens to be secure around new people and things, we never discourage the kittens from coming out to visit when company is over. Needless to say, we won't have kittens underfoot if we have a large gathering, they could get hurt. But they have been known to join in on a nice dinner party for eight.
